    Default LasOrb/Diode Mounting & Connections

    Hi All,

    I've got a 200mw 405nm diode and a LasOrb from drlava.
How are you guys connecting and mounting these things?
The diode is pressed into an Aixiz "lens piece".
The LasOrb is bigger than the diode assembly and when connected the LasOrb body is off-center.

What is the best way to mount this stuff so a heatsink can be used? (pics would be great!)

    TIA,
    Tim

Use one of Laserman532's mounting kits.

    Hi Doc,
    Thanks for the reply.

The problem is not how to mount the laser. The problem is what to do with the big-ass block that is the LasOrb. I don't want the diode's leads to be stressed by dangling the LasOrb off the back of the diode. However, the LasOrb isn't supposed to be further than 1cm from the diode. How are other people (mechanically) using their LasOrbs?

The laseorb is light, you wont do the diode any harm by dangling it off.. Hell I have a laseorb dangling off a 1w Nichia, and it doesn't worry me too much

I thimk its buypangolin.com or something like that. The Benner unit typed it one day, but I'm not 100% sure on that......

You can order them from www.pangolinstore.com and just specify that you want LASORB (not LasOrb or LaseOrb or Laser Orb hehe) in the "Other Pangolin products or services.

I suppose we should setup an ebay shop to sell these as well...
