Count me in dude! I'd be more than happy to get the presentations in as well. This year I'll be way more prepared for shooting.

    However......

    ATTENTION ALL SELEM ATTENDEES!!!!

I need a tripod with a pan/tilt head. All the heads on my tripods are for still cameras. If anyone could please bring a half-way decient tripod with a Pan/Tilt head for me to barrow, that would be appreciated and will greatly help with the quality of the final video.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, see pic. I need one like this with the handle that comes off the head to direct the camera. The more fluid the motion, the better.

If you do have one please PM me with details.
    Thanks!
    Adam

Bill, if point 3 is to me, don't worry I did not expect that to happen, only feared it as a remote possibility as it could happen with anyone if there aren't specific presentation times.

You should still think about a smaller-scale demonstration, perhaps a "gather around the laptop" demo off the main stage. Some of the demos and discussions like that at the last SELEM where actually pretty cool...
And maybe have some of your laser modules up for sale strategically located...

    Hey Adam -

I have one - not quite THAT fancy, but it works fine with all the camcorders I've used in the past!

IF I get to attend (still TBD...), you're certainly welcome to use it, but an alternate plan might be good, just in case...

    Hey Randy!
Great! If it's not too much trouble, please bring it. I'm working on getting 2 cameras going so the more the better. Oh, and you better be there! Don't make me drive down to Knoxville and hold your ass hostage! Job or not, lasers are serious business!

What we could do is have a "show of hands" from the attendees about each topic.
    That's perfect!

    11 days to load in!

My supplier of Lumia wheels, Displaser, is sending several peices of glass to offer as door prizes for SELEM!

Um... It has twist locks that can be tightened; I am not sure I know what you mean...

Yeah, I need a tripod that has a handle sticking out of the head that can control the pan and tilt. They have really smooth movement and are not effected by the weight of the camera. These are like $300-$1000 tripods. Hopefully someone has these. If not, I can do without. It would just be so much better if I can get one.

    Lightbulb

Mine has a few twist type compression "locks" for pan but tilt does have a handle that sticks out the back for following hte action. I will verify when I get home and let you know. I plan to bring it for my camcorder for live broadcasting.
