So, what is the question?
What is the controller?
how can i get extended range to work thru the controller a no name 240-A 512 dmx at the moment it only gives me basic range it only does this when connected to my FB3 everything else has 16 channels
I'm not at home at the m,oment so can't check my FB3 documentation - is there a channel or something that changes what mode the FB3 is operating in. I seem to remember Bill saying something like this so you could lock down certain functions for operators
Edit: search is your friend...

yeah i know about that channel its ch 1` under close investigation i found only 3 wiresw were connected and i see on some pics it needs all 4 wired to dmx so i seemed to have fixed it,
cheers
DMX is only 3 wires, Signal +, Signal - and ground.
If your DMX controller only has 4 channels, you don't have enough channels to use anything above basic mode.
