Default how much is a used 10 watt Copper Bromide laser worth

i have a chance to buy this system but what is it worth it about 10 years old or so how do these tubes hold up and can they be preprocessed if necessary and how much does that generally cost

10 watt Copper Bromide laser laser is air-cooled and operates on 110 V power. We also installed two FIBERPRO projectors (laser net)

IIRC a new 8W Spektronica runa about $8-10K??

Tubes can be reprocessed, usually by maker though, although they are cheap to buy replacements for. Do you know who made it?

How cheap is a new tube? Might be a good place to start for a diy system!

I have to hand all sorts of high voltage, high current transformers, recifiers, voltage doublers, inductors etc etc.

Also, are the tubes sealed with electrodes and gas and ready to rock???

I'd say if they were around 2k or so that would be a great option!!!

You need 8 Kv, 100 uJ pulses 10 nanoseconds long 1000 times a second. Still like the idea of building it?

The major cost of the new laser is the special transfomer and the thyratron tube , but the laser tubes themselves are only 1000-1500$ or less to replace. 15 years ago I was told 800 a tube once you owned the laser.

also are these a lot safer than a standard cvl
i was told that the normal kind of cvl (no bromide) is very dangerous because you have to make a bunch of adjustments while its starting up and if done wrong instant death

The instant death thing can easily be avoided if the unit is set up properly and a remote control is used to control the gas system.

That is fairly demanding! A synchronised RSG could do it with its hands in its pockets though.
