I was on the hunt for a cheap set of 30k scanners recently (and almost as if he knew) Dave posted somewhere that LaserShow Parts are now selling a new range of 20k and 30k scanners that were priced at $145USD for the 20k and $215USD for the 30k.
A couple of emails and a few days later the boys at LSP had postie at the door with my new 30k’s

Scanning:
Tuning was excellent as supplied and the ILDA test pattern and lasermedia quad scanned perfectly at 30k @ just over 8 degrees and looked very good at up to 17 degrees. Revelation looked nice and tight with no obvious distortions at 17 degrees, I was short on time and didn’t do any further testing with shows at various angles.
The scan angle maxed out at around 40degrees.
Everything runs quite cool, I temporarily disconnected the drivers and scan block from the base plate to monitor temperatures and nothing overheated after 15 minutes scanning various frames at 40 degrees:
Ambient: 23-24 deg C
Driver 1: 34 deg C
Driver 2: 36 deg C
Scan block: 26 deg C
Upsides:
Price
Small amps
Very good performance
Low loss mirrors (~50mW losses over both mirrors from a 1.1w green laser)
Downsides:
No invert signal switches on the amps
Overall:
The 30k’s are a well made very good performing scanset with an exceptionally low price tag.
Price:
SCANLSP30’s 30k scan sets: $215USD (153EURO or £130GBP
