It's your luck day. I'm looking at the operations manual for the ML8-5RG. Call me 503-258-9858 or send me an email to tell me where to send you a copy.

James good to see you on the board, PM me and I will give you my new number in New Mexico! Look at James's videos on youtube! His lights are groovy too!

Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.

Too bad... He just missed the latest Florida Laser Enthusiast's Meeting!

Hey Mark! Welcome to PhotonLexicon! Whereabouts in Florida are you? (Your profile information isn't filled out...)

You know we have quite a few members in Florida, and several times per year we get together for a day of fun... We rent out a small meeting hall, set up all our projectors (along with a killer sound system), and just geek out for the day. You should check it out sometime!

Default Yet another one from Florida

Double "uh oh"...I'm yet another one from Florida(actually lived up north and now new to Florida)...

Newbie with a Mobolazer ML8-50RG Beam with G-Scan and (2) of Mobolazer's $$$ diffraction mirrors.

I got my first variance in 2001, which expired in 2003.

I got sidetracked with 2 spinal surgeries and after a long road (still) recovering, I am ready to get back to business.

So my laser has barely been warmed up, but I have taken it for many test drives.

I have called the main office regarding variance renewal and they gave me what turned out to be a dead email address. (There is some confusing info on the CDRH website regarding renewal.)

I'm looking for some direction on several fronts:

*Any local meet and greets...I understand from an above post that I missed something recently. Crud!
*What is the "IR function" on my Mobo actually for?
*Are there any new add-ons or anything else new or special that's related to my RG Beam?
*Are there any other easier ways to either program or control it besides my ancient American DJ DMX-512?
*What DIDN'T Mobolazer tell me when I bought it?

That's all I can think of for now and I sure wish I was able to contribute something, but as I stated above...newb. I'll also search the posts and I'll call the main office back to obtain further directions on getting my renewal--if my laser strength still even requires it.
    Thanks,
    -EclipseDave

We had a medical CVL at the last FLEM. Unfortunately, we never got it fired. We did have a couple HGM5 medical argons though.

Vag burner is slang for a converted medical laser (usually a laserscope). Bad taste, I know...

We'll be having another meet in Florida in a month or two. Stay tuned to PhotonLexicon for details. (Check the Meet and Greet sub-forum.)

As for your mobolaser questions, I'll defer to someone else. I've only played with one for about 3 hours, and what I know about them wouldn't fill a thimble.
