    Default Hi

    Hello

Im new to lasers i have been given a 60 watt sealed co2 laser tube i know they are invisible and produce 10.6um (10600nm) but i herd they are good for burning i dont want an expensive setup just want the tube working to full power the cooling system will be a high end pc cooling system but im not sure of the power supply and what makes a good beam stop , i have to wait 1ish weeks befor i get the tube so i thought i would ask befor i get it

And a strange question when i get it working anyone whant pics and videos or it burning and working

    Thanks

Howdy to the form daylight !! Well I had a 60 watt co2 and got board of it quick . If you dont have an application for it , it gets boring fast !!! I would recommend , screw around with it for a wile and then sell that thing and get your self a tasty rgb projector !! Thats just me . Or you can build a co2/cnc machine and tinker with that for a wile. Thats up to you !! Well have fun be safe and hope it dosen't arrive in bits !

I hope he just dosent say burning things . Going from 100mw green to 60 watts of death ray is a huge jump. I remember when I first turned mine on ( JESUS GOD ) THAT THING WAS DANGEROUS !!!!!! I could light a 2x4 on fire as soon as it turned on . I could smoke a pine tree from 20 feet away. I hope your reading this Daylight , that thing your getting is no joke, I hope you get goggles too, this is real industrial power !!! It will fuck you up at the speed of light !!!! Not joking here bub !! And if you get everything hooked up right you will see what Im talking about !!

HAHAHA !! If I remember correctly its around 35kv to 40 kv !! Daylight when you operate these things your mind needs to be on everything , High Voltage , Laser Direction, Laser Reflection, How to shut it down fast without electrocuting your self. Not walking into an invisible beam , that will light you on fire !! Just because your burning a 2x4 dosent mean it's not dumping huge amounts of IR light in your eyes that you cant see !!!! I truly recommend you get your money back , its too much power too soon for ya. At least stay in the visible spectrum under 1 watt.

    Hello

I would never run the laser with out goggles 60 watt i a hell of allot of power and completely invisible the system will be put into a box with a large emergency stop button and power control along with water temp monitor and also there is allot of high voltage running the tube so when its all in-cased you wont see that there will also be a key switch on the back of the box

I would sell it but the i would want it back again i wouldn't use it very often but i would keep it

    Thanks for the replies
