    Default the Acme Laser

Well, we had a bunch of parts hanging around (a 1W 532 DPSS, some DT40s, an FB3 and a power supply) so this weekend we decided to turn them into a projector.

We needed a case. When I measured the chunk of aluminium we had hanging around it turned out to have almost exactly the same footprint as a Technics SL1200 so it was obvious that the music store was the place to go. We bought an Odyssey 4U rack case- highly recommended; these flight cases have two removable ends and are almost exactly perfect for a projector project.

A couple hours later we had something that looked like this:

With a watt of green, I'd need some serious red and blue...

    Horaaah!

Glad to see you are using a macbook pro there heroic!

I also use mine as my show computer of choice, the backlit keyboard comes in handy in dark conditions (ie, like venues!)

You running boot camp ?? Try Sun Virtual box, no need to reboot!

    Cheers,

    N.

Nope, VMware Fusion. Works well now that I got the Pangolin drivers stable (took a lot of work with a VMware support guy, but now it works out of the box- much respect to VMware support staff!)

    Thats cool... but!

I've not had any issues with Virtualbox, just installed windows - installed the Pango sw and away I went - no stability issues no problems.. it's been flawless.

Pretty good for something that cost nothing.

I did always like VMWare tho, but doing Laser shows is expensive enough without paying for something else!
