Laser Warning Green Lasers and projection TV

    Hi Folks,

I found this interesting article on the development of green lasers for the projection TV market.
I wonder If anyone here has actually seen a laser TV in action. How was it ?
Anyhow the article can be viewed here " http://optics.org/cws/article/research/39348 "

    Enjoy

I've worked on a laser TV, with Novalux lasers among others. I've also seen one running over at Coherent. The reds are very saturated, getting rid of speckle is more difficult than you think but that's not been the deal killers.

    Laser Warning

    Hi Robert,

Lucky you working for Novalux !
Novalux was bought up by Aramax.
If you worked with Novalux, what was your impression of the RGB laser engine they developed ?
Would the Novalux/Aramax laser engine lend itself to building a laser projector .
If so, any Idea on a price tag or are they selling to OEM laser TV manufacturers exclusively ?

    Take Care

Didn't mean to imply that I worked at Novalux, which I didn't, just with some of their lasers. And the lasers that worked for me still work fine after a few years, but I can't say anything about prices or marketing. I will say that working with the beam is not the same thing as working with a beam from a single emitter!

    Hi Robert,

Your original wording seemed to imply that you had worked for Novalux.
I expected that the high output power lasers from Novalux might be multimode, multiple emitters.
Which wavelengths did you get from Novalux ?
Did you try making a laser TV ? If not what was your application ?
