So, what do you get when you run 24 solid state hard drives in a raid???

Totally awesome!
(Beware: This would currently cost over $10K just for the drives. )

Very nice. Our NAS server looks about like that..
I saw that a few weeks ago. Looks pretty darn fast.
/me drools
Yuck he uses windows to do this! eeek.
In my "professional" opinion, I recon you'd exceed the speeds he was demonstrating using a Linux / Unix OS and the same amount of drives.
On another note... seen this ?? :

(I'll be shocked if that's not made it's way onto PL at some time!)
Cheers,
Nige.
damm thats fast
to bad my sas controller does not work in my current system
Do not look into laser with remaining eye
Need laser repair contact me !!!!!!
Cool we should expect this spec system to be available for 2000 in 2-3 years.
I think im still a year off my do not upgrade till there is a 10 fold increase in processing and speed. I thninking going from 2 GHz duo cpu to a Daul 4 Ghz Quad core should meet the criteria and help my 3D rendering along nicely. Who knows some of the PC games might actually take advantaege of multi processor cores soon.
So for the sake of being silly and probably driving a crap car for another 5 years im thinking
64 Bit OS
2 x quad core or (8 core if available) Xeon
64 GB Ram
24 x SSD Hard Drives (as above)
2 x Dual view 2GB Graphincs adaptors
2 x 30 " LCD
I wonder what my systme after that will be like ....
i hope they didnt use raid 0 there asking for trouble with that many hd's
i so wish i knew more about computers to build a decent setup
looks awesome
