Help ! Identify this laser please

Oooh that should be doing a good 3W of IR right there. Could be 808nm but there is no proper way to tell without a spectrometer.

Please use caution...even though I/R will diverge quickly you may find some things in your field of vision later on that will not make you happy. Even reflections off of a white surface can be an issue. Add a TEC to keep it healthy. Nice , clean pattern....if it is near 808nm it will make a nice laser after the beam is cleaned up a bit. If you have an old green pointer crystal assy. around you could quickly check to see if that made any 532nm at a low power.....be sure to rotate the the crystals to find the correct pump axis.

thanks for your help guys, im gonna wait until ive got some IR safety goggles before ill attempt anything else. all i see is a very faint 650 ish nm red, but through the camera its real bright. i took caution not to look at it at all when possible.

i have a crystal from a green pointer that died on me, ill order the glasses and then give it a try... if it does not produce any green ill assume it could still be used for burning stuff.

You'll have to focus it into the crystal. Keep the power down, both for your eyes and so the MCM from the pointer doesn't launch into oblivion from overpower.

Get goggles.

Also, make sure you have it going in the correct end of the crystal set, otherwise all you'll do is heat them up and get a dull green glow from the crystals (if you get anything that is ).
