YES YES YES, HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY, JOY JOY JOY !!!!
Just spoke to my program manager. I am allowed to have the complete weekend off including Tuesday.
So my schedule will be:
Leave Saturday, cross North Sea, sleep in Hotel closest to venue (Question 1 below), Sunday be waiting in line before 10 o'clock, leave as last ;-)
Back to hotel, Monday back to boat, cross Northsea, drive home.
Tuesday: sleep late and spend day with smile on face posting pictures and f5'ing the Photonlexicon site. YES ! I really look forward to this guys !
Questions:
1. Which hotel is closest to the venue and affordable ?
2. How is eating arranged ? Firebug bar sounds nice (is that both for lunch/diner ?)
3. Is there anyone already in Leicester on Saturdayevening that would like to have dinner / a drink ? (Preferably a woman between 18-35, not too tall, nice boobs'n brains, with a sense of humor, if that's not possible i'll settle for a crazy laserist, but then it's only just for drinks or a bite to eat ;-)
4. @ROB: i could bring a bottle of liquor that is from Holland and made in my Neighborhood as a doorprice ?
5. Can anyone spare a minute during UKLEM to explain me tuning of a scanner and why certain steps are as they are (tuning a 50K scanner for 35K making the angle wider ? etc). Really would appreciate it.
6. I can bring my green 1W, it's not yet completely finished as i want, doesn't have loop through ILDA, and i use Easylase with Mamba (Hopefully i manage to get 2.0 before UKLEM). I just focussed so much on building that i haven't really had the time to figure out the options, maybe someone can explain some handy tricks to me, or is it all Pangolin and of no use to bring my green ? Or can i better leave it home (i am looking for a reason to justify myself travelling by car hahaha...
7. I also want to bring my dichro's but need a red laser to see which direction is the correct one for mounting on the mount.
Does anyone have a red to shine on my dichro ? ;-) hahaha
7. Does the venue have internet to pay for goodies i might buy from anyone (like Rob or others offering nice stuff ?)
Lot's of questions, i will now go home and tonight / tomorrow look how to get there, maybe i have some more questions about hotels and such.
Bye ...really really looking forward seeing you guys and your hellish photon spitting machines ;-)
@Rob: can you please put me on the Guest list ?

@hobbitybob:
I can help you out with 7b.) as I'll have my 3G dongle with me, but as always depends on how much signal is blowin' in the wind in Leicester.![]()
- There is no such word as "can't" -
- 60% of the time it works every time -
Mega! We look forward to meeting you
There is one just over the road - 100meters away, its where Bob (profexion) stayed for the last meet and can be seen here - http://www.campanile-leicester.co.uk/en/index.aspx from previous persons experience - avoid days in like the plague - it appears to have the plauge!
We will walk up to Firebug at around 5PM and if there are lots of us then we may need to pre order - though there was a delay and some huffing and puffing from the staff last time despite the pre order...
I get first dibs - on the laydee that isI will be staying in Derby on Sat night as I will be working for AC-Lasers the night before but wont be avail Im afriad till after midnight - So I will see you Sun morning.
Yes of course that would be great but as they are all T-Total you better just give it to me
I can help you with scanner tuning - just make sure you know what pots do what otherwise its stabbing in the dark though it is possible to make an educated guess on the pots.
Im a Mamba man and can show you anything you wanna know(to do with Mamba that is....) Bring whatever you can we wont judge just love the fact there is more kit there
I think there may be lots of red lasers to test with though will be able to work it out without a laser.
No internet at the venue Im afraid but if you wanna buy any goodies from me and I will have some with me - I accept cash, cheque and kind though the last is only available to female customers
So are we - its great to have overseas visitors
Done!
Rob

Thanks for all the nice responses:
@DanielBriggs:as said just when i buy something i can pay with paypal is handy.
@Soforene: are you kidding me ? Advocaat is an old lady's eh... well it's not even liquor it's some sort of eggnog (eggknock sp?). But if you want a bottle, i'll bring one...
@Rob:
On the hotel EXCELLENT tip... i saw that hotel today and via a "cheap bookingsite" i was offered 98 pounds for 2 nights... i followed your link: 69 ! hahah....that's almost equivalent to a PBS ;-)
Look:
Hello,
Subsequent to your room reservation request, please find enclosed the confirmation of your booking. Louvre Hotels thanks you in advance for choosing one of its brands.
Hahaha it's inevitable now.... i am coming !
At 4: T-Total i think i don't quite understand, as in Tea Total (no alcohol ?).
That's the best i can think of, but maybe i am totally off ?
I don't drink myself either, but thought it was nice to bring something as well ;-)
But i drink my Tea the Dutch way: very light and no milk but with sugar hahahaha....
I will bring Soforene a bottle of the yellow old granny stuff.... ;-)
At 5: i thought of switching this cheap scanner for the Scantrack 35 plus (which is faster, but has very small mirrors). This cheap scanner has wider mirrors, so i think is better for the wider beam... well i'll check..... Maybe i do bring the JM Laser scantracks as i have that manual and would really understand what i am doing. That would be interesting. Hell i'll bring all the stuff.
6: Nice to hear, i did read up some up old posts about you writing stuff in the manual ?
I'll try to buy Mamba 2.0 this weekend and hope to bring it along.
At 7.(Dichros) i know there is coating , but i really can't figure out for the live of it and am afraid to glue it the wrong way round. I will use the First contact to protect it and then when the epoxy is dried remove the First contact (good tips...from PL...)
Thanks for all the answers... and good night !
Old Ladies Drink !?
It's gorgeous.
And it contains eggs so for an old fuddy duddy like me it almost counts as a sports supplement drink.
I think that's why I have the body of an Olympic Athlete. (Sumo Wrestling)
As far as equipment goes I'll be bringing my funked up sound system as usual to provide the aural background to the laser shenannigans.
Oh and my Headtorch.......

Just to say that I won't be able to make it this time as I'm doing a private party in Wales - have a good one, and I look forward to seeing the pics / video.
Shame John
Well we certainly will record as much as we can for you - have a good weekend whatever.
Rob
ps is that RGB finished yet??
