    Question Frame to optimize

    Guys,
I've used Traceit to scan in a logo and tidied it up using Lasershow Designer but hit a bit of a snag.
I've hit the 6000 point limit with all my tinkering but the logo itself appears to be comprised of a few hundred points at most.
Could some kind soul optimize it for me (to reduce the point count) or let me know how to do it (in LD2000).

I've seen mention of ILD-SOS in relation to optimizing.
Is this the kind of thing it could be useful for?

When I run this frame as part of a show in Showtime 2000 it won't display any other frames at the same time, presumably because of that 6000 point limit so I need to get it down to a more respectable figure cus "The show must go on!"

    Cheers chaps...........

That trace is one big mess.
I can reduce it down to ~2000 points, but this still is not suitable for scanning because of all those double lines and small fragments.
Please post a original jpg/bmp/... , I'll try some other tracing methods.

    Thumbs up

I know the ild is a mess.
I only have a small gif to work from and perhaps I should have tidied it up a bit more before feeding it through Traceit.
Attached is the Gif that I have as a source.

Any hints on how to obtain a cleaner version would be appreciated.
    Cheers.

1st hint: Supply a larger picture. That one is too small for tracing. But I'll try anyway...

    Guys,
I can increase the dimensions of the graphic but it also highlights the imperfections.
I appreciate it's not an ideal source to scan/trace and I'm not looking for a professional finish (but it would be nice) as it's just for a home show.
    Cheers for looking though.

    lqa files?
I don't think my Pango gear will open them (see, there's some things Pangolin can't do ! )

lqa files = Live quick animation files, so I guess you could.

Try these, they are small, but you should be able to scale them up, if not, let me know and I can do it for you, just requires me digging for the FB3 so I can start LQ

    Optimized: http://files.getdropbox.com/u/203420...20-%20opti.ild

They are a 5 minute job, so I have no idea how they will do on a projector.

They are both around 2500 points, not much you can do to get it lower I'm afraid.

EDIT: Found it, try this: http://files.getdropbox.com/u/203420...20Enlarged.lqa
Should just open in any Pango software.

    Would this be big enough

Fairly clean, should be good enough to trace

    Cheers Decix, Loopee and Things.
Can't download those files just yet (at work) as the security scanner classes the site as "naughty" so I'll try later from home.

I'm using the opportunity to show what my tool "OriginalLaserArt" (OLA) can do.
    1) I opened Inkscape
    2) pasted Troy's bitmap into the page
    3) used trace bitmap.
    4) deleted the bitmap and kept the vector graphic
    5) selected vector graphic and selected 'break apart',
    6) removed fill and set the outline color to cyan.
    7) changed page dimensions to square and background color to black
    8) saved the SVG file

    9) opened OLA
    10) loaded the 30k conversion settings
    11) loaded the svg file
    12) saved the ild file: 650 points optimized for 30 k scanning.

    Both files are included...

OLA can be downloaded, and is for free - my way of giving back to this community.
    Download here: http://www.amelink.net/lasergl/downloads/ola(1).zip

ps. cannot include svg files... is this something that can be changed Admin?
