    Laser Warning Sonic laser invented

First, it was a laser, now a saser (sonic laser) that operates at terahertz frequencies. Great for security applications at airports and border crossings. Learn more at this web site

Terahertz scanners can see through clothes, leaving nothing to the imagination. Some things are best left to the imagination, specially with the pandemic weight problem.
Gawd I need white out for the mental images conjured when people wear clothes, let alone using terahertz technology.

Do you think it might create a rush on career moves towards randy airport security?
    Naaa...

    Enjoy

I like the second comment on the page:

"Great. We're that much closer to a weirding module..." And posted by none other than Muad'Dib himself!

    Yeah Adam,

Sounds like you're a fan of the "Dune" stories like me...

SASER = Sound Amplification by Seriously Errant Rhetoric?

soon to be followed by the BASER (Bullshit Amplification Sold Erroneously to Retards)

I'll admit that they used the laser analogy with a bit more abandon that I'd like, but it's still interesting technology... I'm actually surprised that they could reach terahertz frequencies in air. I didn't think such high frequency sound would propagate in a medium as light as air.

And yeah, I always did like Frank Herbert's Dune. (And I played all the Dune-based PC games too.) Though admittedly, the weirding module was only introduced in the movie version. In the book, the weirding way was more of a style of fighting (like Ju Jitsu) than a device. But I like the idea of a hand-held sonic cannon just the same!
