    Hello All ! ,

It's been nearly 3 years now that I had to put my hobby in my closet , but hey , im back again
Even got my self a FB3 now , im now planning to build my own RGB build , aiming at 2.5W RGB , im really not good with the color balance , as you guys have much much more experience than I do , the spec I had in my mind is 500mW Green , 1W Red ( 650nm ) and 800mW-1W of Blue ( 445nm ) , is this an acceptable white balance? Im thinking that it would look near warm white like , I guess .
Would love to hear your opinion

    Regards,

    Regards,
Change the red out for 637nm or 640nm and reduce its power.

    I have a Kvant with 1W 445, 500mw 532, 680mw 637nm.

I have to turn the red down otherwise some more subtle shades display white rather than their intended colour!!!!

Do not underestimate the power of 637nm, it is very bright.

The good news is this means you can use much less than you intended which helps to bring the cost down closer to 650nm.

What if I use the 635nm , as far as I heard , it is like a torch , im also purely more into beam effects rather than displaying , so lets say If I would use a 500mW of 635nm , and 500mW of green , blue 1W , would that be a suitable aswel?

TBH I have no experience of 635nm so couldn't say. Maybe someone else could help.

One thing is for sure though, you're not going to get 500mw out on standard mirrors as usually 635nm is so fat a considerable amount gets lost inside the projector.

The 635nm fat beams are generally multi-mode thus an array of emitters... The newer 637 and 642nm diodes are much better depending on your output (most larger output modules are knife edged + pbs).

    Hi Philipp,
you can tame the beam somewhat on 635/8's using cylindrical lenses, but for multi diode setups it can aparently be very tricky to get alignment spot-on
