Nice work djmatt! That laser looks great, getting it to lase again usually isn't an easy thing to do, depending on how off the optics are. I'd be curious to know why there seems to be two sets of ballast resistors, one set in the supply and another set in the head.

Thanks!! Truth be known, I had no idea what I was doing..

But thats why I got it to learn with. And now Ive got an argon to mess with too!!
But Ill bring both of them to SELEM

It's a smaller Argon that somehow managed to make it way up from Florida

Ive been messing with it ans found a old glass color weel,from an intelligent light,and the colors I get with it is super cool!!!!

Oh I found a date on this laser, there was a tag in the box that fell off,and it has the QC test date on it,Aug.1.1974.

Hey I'm real glad it was safe! I sure did pack that thing like it was headed for war!

I guess the packaging materials came in handy after all!

1974! WOW... that's ancient! That's must have cost a good chunk back then! I mean... they were around for only a few years back then

I guess that answers the question:
"What did a laser look like 35 years ago?" just about exactly 35 years ago too

Haha!! They did, and now the cat is in on it too!!

I was thinking that was really old too!! I still dont know much about this things,but I think the tubes look great to be that old!! Other than some dust,and one small brown spot inside the main tube,its clean!!
When was the first HeNe made?
