    Default Countdown timer needed

    Hi Guys,

Have one of those sudden rush rescue things to do due to a large LED display screen failing.

Has anyone designed a countdown (or up) or even a clock that can be paused and restarted for LD.
This is for a sports game so it is necessary to stop it from time to time. Max time required would be 60 minutes.

I have had a look at the clock in LD2000 which is great but seem to lack the start stop function. (you can pause it but the timer keeps running in the background so is of no use in this case).

The concept ones in the Showtime segment could lead to developing something but time is of the essence as the game is on Friday.

As for team names and scores that's easy enough using Live.

If anyone has had a play with this and is willing to share that would be much appreciated..
In the meantime I'll continue to take apart the sample clocks that Bill has provided in showtime as a basis to do something.

    Many thanks

    Hi Ray

I kept these two links as I had intentions of making a timer for my holography setup. They may do what you want.

    Hi Ray,

In and among the DEMOS folder, you should be able to find something that says "clock and timer examples". This includes ShowClock, but you can build your own count-up or count-down timer in Showtime with no problem, and then start, pause, and reset it in ST:Live!

Thanks for the quick reply Jem.

Yeah, I need to do it with lasers..

Current thoughts are to use three lasers.. to reduce flicker.
Two running team names and scores the other running a clock.
With a lots of text you seem to get a lot of flicker.

    Anyway thanks

    Cheers

    Hi Bill,

    Nice to hear from you.

Yes that's exactly what I am doing. I am using your demo timers as a basis.

I was just really checking in case someone had written a "front end" easy to use version as it will have a "non laserist" operator.

Its a fun exercise it gives you a good idea of the power of Pangolin in terms of the getting the timings rights and how to start at 40min and work back. Its also a good one for using effects to positioning numbers etc

Just about got it done, I will post it when finished for others to play with. This is for Rugby (football) the New Zealand reason for living..(other than beer)

I'll probably put this timer one on its own laser to ensure no timing issues as we also need to show team names and scores so plan to use three lasers.. one laser on time keeping with its own computer the other two on QM2000.net boxes. This should also help keep the flicker factor down.

    Many Thanks

    Ray

Actually sounds like a good feature addition to AutoPlay...
