god, I'd like to have one of those

I tend to dream about glassworking and gases and electrodes at night

I also have the opportunity to scavenge a whole glassworking bench contents except the flamer (electrodes, quartz and silica rings and tubes, glasss/metal interfaces, ceramics, corner stones, etc..)

I really need to make my own tube one day

reply sent with offer of "big fricken laser". You supply your own shark to mount it on.

Which grating, which sensor, and which entry slit does this have?

These are amazing spectrometers, I have a USB4000 here and it is amazingly useful! Imagine being able to tune the temperatures on a DPSS laser without a power meter. By measuring the wavelength of the scatter from the diode, you can tune the temperature until the peak is right where you want it.

I would urge anyone to buy this. It is such a useful tool!

Ben, I try to keep my nose out of stuff, but I would be careful of sharing associations with others in the FS forum; for their sake.
