iv seen this laser on ebay and want one right now, does anyone know what these lasers are like? its rated at a minimum of 2700mw which for £6000 is a bargain. im wondering if the build quality is any good as it seems very cheap to me.

My first (and so far only) laser is a small RGY 200mw. Ill probably sell it soon as its not really bright enough for what i want it for. I cant say that much since I have nothing to compare it too, its just a basic level entry laser..

I think you could attribute that quote to almost any member here on the forum.

No really its 200mw. The red isn't bright enough so you never really see yellow. You cant really do any beam work with it unless its total darkness, my main lights totally overwhelm it.

iv gotta be honest mate i aint got 6k to spend, im living in a bit of a fantasy wanting it but it just seems really cheap. would u be able to build me a 3000 mw laser system for £6000 cause if u can i might start saving my pennies. lol

    cheers mate ollie

also madgadget, i know iv spoke to u before about these lasers and i just wanna say when im using my lasers i turn all my other effects off or to a minimum with some strobing maybe. it makes the effect of the lasers alot better. i also dont use them alot, only at the end maybe 5 or 6 times for about 5 minutes a time. iv found this gives a better effect to the crowd.
200mw isnt exactly bright but would probably look pretty good with the other lights off. iv got a 450mw one similar and that seems pretty bright. its all down to the balance of red to green iv found

    anyway thats off topic

yes true but i start some songs like that with a nice slow flat pan coming down building up getting faster then burst into a spinning blanked circle with a fast strobe from my datamoons when the beat kicks in. really looks good and builds the suspense. i usually dont have all the lights off fully in the room though cause of either emergency lights or because i feel it better (depending on what the do is) to leave some light in the room so people aint stumbleing over. lol

tbh id love to turn all the lights out cause it makes my lighting look better but my mate never lets me.

have u thought of just upgrading the laser u have with more green and red. like i said if u aim for 450mw (200mw 532nm and 250mw 635 would be nice) then it should be fine for the kind of dos im doing and i think u do similar stuff to me.

anyway stanwax is good for this kind of thing in the uk and gottaluvlasers is in america. cant promote these 2 enough they are quality blokes and will help with anything u need

I guess I'm lucky at my regular gig. They always ask about ambient lighting, I just say "leave that to me". Just the bar lights stay on, then I can just drop the level from the scans and led wall when I need it darker.

This night I was using an NRG 450RGY
