I don't mean to drag everyone down with this. This isn't a buzz-kill. In fact, I'm so damn keyed-up for SELEM I can't concentrate on my job at all this week. (Which is why I'm posting here instead of working! Whee!) So yeah, let's all get ready to have a blast!

You can say that again... It's past 1PM, and I haven't even opened up the database yet! LOL

Please note: I did make one change to the results, in the interest of continuity and logistics: I moved Patrick Murphy's presentation about audience scanning into the auditorium. It is designed to dovetail with Bill's power measurement presentation, and together the two presentations should only take a *total* of 30 minutes, so I combined them. (The power measurement part was strongly voted into the main auditorium, but the ILDA part of that presentation was actually voted into the lobby, albeit just barely.) I also added some Q&A time afterward, just in case.

So, here's what the schedule looks like:

    Friday

12:00 - 16:30 Equipment load in and setup.
16:30 - 17:00 Lights out for a couple quick laser shows before venue closes.
17:00 - 18:00 Break to allow everyone to get cleaned up for dinner.
18:00 - 22:00 Dinner party and drinks at the Artist's Cafe. (Woo Hoo! )
22:00 - ????? Extended celebration at Holiday Inn Express lobby / conference room.

    Saturday

10:00 - 11:00 introductions, final setup and testing. (lights on in auditorium)
11:00 - 13:00 General laser shows in auditorium (lights out in auditorium) + work on ion Lasers (2 Lexel 95's) backstage in hallway.
13:00 - 14:00 Lunch & discussion. Swap meet in dressing room backstage or lobby. (Lights in auditorium may be on or off depending)
14:00 - 14:15 Door prize drawings in main auditorium (lights on) MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN
14:15 - 15:15 Presentations on Pangolin Beam Brush, Quickshow, and Beyond 3D in auditorium.
15:15 - 19:00 More laser shows in auditorium (lights out) + presentations in Lobby (Optics cleaning, Variance Q&A, ILDA sos and Flexmod Q&A, Laserboy Q&A)
19:00 - 20:00 Dinner (Lights may be on or off depending)
20:00 - 24:00 More laser shows in auditorium (Lights out in auditorium)
00:15 - 01:30 After SELEM breakfast party at IHOP for the night owls that can't go to sleep yet!

    Sunday

10:00 - 12:00 General laser shows in auditorium (lights out) + more ion laser work in backstage area.
12:00 - 13:00 Presentation on Audience scanning and power measurements in main auditorium. (Bill and Patrick) Q&A session afterward (if needed)
13:00 - 14:00 Lunch & discussion. Swap meet in dressing room backstage or lobby. (Lights in auditorium may be on or off depending)
14:00 - 17:30 more laser shows in auditorium (lights out)
17:30 - 19:00 Tear down, load out, and clean up.
19:15 - 20:30 Dinner for those people not leaving town immediately. Location to be announced.

Please understand that this is a general outline, not a rigid schedule. This isn't an ILDA conference, and I'm not going to be holding a stopwatch.

About the only hard limits we have are on the opening and closing times for the venue itself. Apart from those times, we may end up making other changes based on how things are going.

Also note that this year's schedule reflects a move away from lots of presentations in the auditorium. The masses have spoken, and the overwhelming response was for MORE LASER TIME! So that's what we've got. We've only got a total of 2 hours of presentations scheduled in the auditorium this year, down from about 5 hours last year. (I'll have to really re-think the plan for next year based on this feedback.)

A big thanks to everyone who replied here in this thread, and to the others who replied via PM. I sincerely appreciate everyone's input.

    Thumbs up

Thank you Adam for all your organization of this event!

I am sooo glad the boss and I are taking a vacation the week after; I snagged our room for another night so we can leave on Monday and not rush on Sunday. I am sure the boss will have fun watching us clean up...

Yep, kudos to Adam, once again

Frau Stuka (the Boss) and I are doing the same - heading out from Newton on Monday for a few days around Asheville. She's bringing several books to keep her busy when not viewing laser shows...

I hate to say it boys, but I plan on creating a ruckus.

I think North Carolina is southern enough for these definitions to stand true:

If someone calls the poLEEse---no one is going to jail.
If someone calls the POlice --50/50 chance of someone going to jail.
If someone calls "The Law" -- RUN! 'cause someone IS GOING to jail.

In all seriousness, I can't wait either. Going to be a blast!!

    Wink

Word on "Da Street" is that Pangolin aren't giving away any T shirts at this meet as they are trying out their new range of Laserist Apparel .....
