    Default Laser PSU

    Do I have to have 3 laser PSU’s? Can they not all be run off the same one?

    normally with lasers you have a mains psu then driver then laser head - subject to which make you buy

    so remove all psu and run from one computer psu

    A single power supply will work, provided the available 5V output load on the one you use exceeds the maximum simultaneous full-power load demand of all the lasers & any auxiliary equipment being powered by that one power supply.

    Also, when eveything is powered by one power supply, if it goes down, you lose all your lasers at the same time. With different supplies, you have some redundancy, which could be a consideration if you ever want to use the projector for performances outside your own home (where it might be better to have only one or two available lasers, versus none at all!)

    It's a quandary, and I tend to waiver as to which direction I want to go myself! (right now, I'm using the individual supplies that came with the lasers)...decisions, decisions...

    Thanks for the advice FourDee, I agree, it's a bit too many, I'll cut them down
