iPod service?

Hey guys, I have a iPod touch 2G here I got 2nd hand, and it works perfectly, but has a few scratches on the "screen" (Front piece of glass).

I was wondering if anyone had any estimates on how much this would cost to have repaired? If I understand correctly, the front piece of glass is also part of the touchscreen, making it even less user-serviceable?

The company I used to work for serviced these, which means they get sent back to apple. All warranty hardware jobs get done in china and ipod replaced locally etc now in most cases.
What you'll want to do to save $$$ is to look at buying one for parts or buying parts off a auction website etc - save on labour. They are tricky biartches to open make sure you get some good plastic tools to open it without scratching further...
