    Laser Warning

Well if that's the case then they are violating my right to call myself whatever I want to. My paperwork was filled out properly and delivered in their required fashion. I suppose the only thing I can be accused of is having a sense of humor.

It took me about 6 months to get my variance. I was very polite but had to bug them with emails and phone calls.

Variance and ANY FDA Paperwork advice-

    1. Send it FED-Ex or ANY type of trackable, confirmable shipping method.

    2. Find out who youre "local" Variance or LSO or FDA Laser rep is. get to be their friend VERY quickly. My guy is Emir galevi and he has jumped through hoops to help me out!

    3. After about 4 weeks if you have not heard anything, CALL them and POLITELY ask for an update. 99% of the time, paperwork is either misplaced or lost.

    4. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!!!! i repeat......FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!!!! you MUST submit 3 copies of variance AND your laser show report to the provided addresses. READ ALL THE DIRECTIONS AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!!!

    Beller-

If you havent gotten your variance and it has been 6 months, re-apply. While I applaud your sense of humor, it isnt appropiate for a Federal license. My gun permit doesnt say, "gun totin sonnofabitch." As much as i would like it to say that!

A variance IS in essence a federal license/permit to operate a controlled/regulated piece of hardware. agree with it, dont agree with it...thats the law.

"Head dude" is kinda funny though! LOL.

First, thanks to all who have helped via the forum and phone. Great info Adam and right on track with all who have helped me so far. I will likely take all your advise on seeing what a disaster I can make of a projector. Likely the worst I can do is ruin a good case.

    Head dude.....now that was funny!

Here is a reply from a China ebay seller I contacted a long time ago.

    Hi Gene,

    Thanks for your email.

Yes,pls kindly see the attached file to get the FDA and ROHS,we have them, pls don't worried.
In USA,it need FDA is ok,so you could check it.

Hope we could know how many power for the full color and your green laser light, because diferrent laser power have diferrent price, wish you could understanding.

We sell the brand of SHINP laser light, and we could ensure the quality!

Wish you will like that, thank you and have a nice day.

    Best regards

    Angela

She was kind enough to send me 4 scans of documents to assure me all was legal.

They look legal.....until you dig deeper. The RoHS document is only for models of LED lights available from Shinp.

There is a FCC document. At first glance it looks impressive and assuring.

The other 2 speak for themselves if you read them.

Maybe I should email these to Laserworld? They might want to use them as well....

No self respecting federal employee is gonna type "head dude" on a approval form, its a public document and there is a legal standard for these things. it leaves them open to all sorts of disciplinary action and possible public humiliation if the media got ahold of it.

In other words, you shot yourself in the foot. You had no " right" to choose a inappropriate title.

resubmit, at least resubmit the "offending" page.

PS, google " federal plain language " Clinton ordered a change, but its going to take a decade or two , for implementation.

I love it, the get the letter just saying the process has started and they then say they are approved!. What a crock!

I would imagine whoever at the FDA read the application, probably got a good laugh - right before he tossed it in the trash can.

Illegal to toss it in a can, public document, too! but I imagine it went into a deep file cabinet marked in unique language. All public correspondence at any agency gets a "received" date stamp on it on the day the envelope is opened, well, except maybe the exception would be the IRS where it would be scanned and shredded.

Could you imagine the size of the file buildings if the IRS kept everything 7 years.....

I mean ilda's admin at the time, long ago, got mad, when I put down Me, Myself, and I, for company president, director of sales, and engineering. I imagine Paige had quite a sense of humor, but it was a legal document submitted to a Delaware corporation. :-)

Default Shot in my own foot again indeed!

I imagine you are all correct in the assessment that it has been tossed into the great bureaucratic black hole. I guess I didnt expect anyone to read anything beyond the redundant x) signature type formalities. My smart ass sense of humor has never gotten me on the top of this list but has always gotten me by. I do stand by my right to call myself in a single member llc anything I deem appropriate (or inappropriate for that matter I feel that there is a general disarray at the federal level and I continue to file the appropriate paperwork for the appropriate items as my responsibility. everything is sent priority and signature verified with copies of all correspondence filed away, copied thrice (one of which is on hand at any event in case the laser police show up). Thats my advice too. Life goes on and so does The Show!!!
