    Default my first scanner(WIP)

so this is just the top plate for now. the other plate will have drivers/psu and other electronics. my holes for the green and the galvo block were a little off so ive got to redrill them a little wider after work but its coming along...slowly.. i still have to add 2 fs mirrors to turn the green and then turn the rgv into the galvo..

Very nice! Looks like it's going to be a nice tight package. Is that green head grounded to the baseplate? If so, don't do that. I learned the hard way.

it wont be when i get done. i just mounted everything up to see if my holes were straight. some were and some werent. worse comes to worse i may have to get 2 more pieces of alum for the top plate if i cant get the greenie and the galvo block to line up by redrilling the holes.

Nice work! I would recommend taking everything off that aluminum block and remount it all on a piece of plywood. Lay the entire thing out and align it while it is on the wood, then once you've got everything lined up, take everything off and use the wood as a drilling template for the aluminum.

i had made a template from cardboard. the template was right but i used a nail to mark the center points and got off by a little..

Ok, that could work, but with wood if you cut it to the exact same size as the plate you're drilling you can just clamp it to the plate (once you've got the wood drilled) and just drill straight down through the holes in the wood. Practically no margin for error. Cardboard is just too flimsy. Of course you're welcome to do as you wish, I'm just offrering advice.

i think im gonna be good with what i have. i just need to redrill the galvo holes a little bigger. the aixiz green(adj 50mw) has a butt load of mounting holes on the bottom so i can just move to another spot.

This was only a matter of time for you Drew. Gonna be kinda tight. Not a problem based on some other things I've seen from you. I can't wait to see it finished.

    What DAC you using?
