With my design, once any interlock condition trips that main relay, the projector is dead. The shutter is closed and all lasers have no power. It will stay in that condition until all interlock conditions are cleared *and* someone presses one of the two run buttons to re-start it.

In Europe (so also the Netherlands) we have the EN60825-1 and this also demands a "re-start" when the interlock is tripped or in case of a power interruption.

Does that "re-start" need to be remote or does the standard also allow me to do that by running/climbing up to the projector and hitting the run button there?

It's not difficult for me to whip up an extra box to operate the interlock, but I hate having loose boxes and dangly cables hanging around. If I have enough space in my DAC housing, I might be able to fix up the run/key interlock circuit separate from the ILDA operation and run it off an XLR mike lead. The box is big enough to house a few extra PCB's.

It does not matter where you have the "reset" button, in my design I have 2, one on the projector itself and one on my remote interlock.

I think a remote "reset" is VERY handy, as I dont like climbing up a truss during a gig after a short power faillure. (and believe me those power failure are more often than you think, when those guys with there boring NON coherent lights are using there equipment)

    Cool

I, too, have both a local re-start button on the projector itself and a remote one on the kill switch box. However, there is no requirement that the re-start button be mounted in any given location. The requirement is only that the projector start up must always be an operator-commanded event.

Do you know if the FB3-SE is supposed to do this at all?

Mine dosen't and with me using a twin multimode 635nm I always get the red ghost beam when the laser is not supposed to be projecting anything - I was hoping the new FB3 purchase would have this feature to close my shutter, mine is also slow to react, when not projecting.
