these are sweet little mounts and could probably be made very cheaply, too. perhaps shorten the mottom of the adjusting side a bit so it won't bind on the board, but it looks like a winner.

Yip that's important. You don't have to trim much though. .5mm is more than enough ...
Yea I was thinking about that too I have updated the drawing.
As for cost. The material is not much but fixturing is going to be a pain.
Dave's are a little smaller and made from brass, I was planning on making them out of 6061 al. Cheaper material and al should be fine.
What do you guys think, should I just make myself a couple for the hell of it or should I bang out a hundred or so and try to sell some?
Oh yea, should I put a little (like .020 x .020 x .5) step at the bottom of the mirror area for a reference if you wanted to glue a cube to it? That way a cube or mirror would set flat against it at the bottom?

Well got a good start today.
Did some test machining to figure out my operations. I have it pretty well figured out and I plan on spending the long weekend to try to get some machined up.
What color should I anodize them? I am kind of leaning towards red.
Big machine, little part.

sounds good, I was thinking these would be perfect for edge mirrors on a multi diode setup.
I was able to get a couple of mounts proto'd up and they seem to work well. All the hard work is done, I am planning on machining up a bunch this weekend.
I still need to pick a color for anodizing.. Any suggestions?

Yeah, minmalalistic black, less chance of strong specular reflection whilst adjusting too.

Will you be selling some? If so, how much are you asking?![]()
Got a couple machined up.
I don't know the price yet, and I have to set up a side, figure out how to ship in the us and internationally, and set up a Google checkout account( pay pal is too greedy). Might need to talk to lava and get some advice.
