I think it's only a valid competition if you base it on the maximum output power of a single laser. Otherwise the guys in the UK will win every time because they have like 30 projectors in attendance!![]()
Besides, thirty 1-watt lasers is not the same thing as a single 30-watt laser!
Seriously though, the current record for the most green from a single laser at a LEM is held by LaserMan532, for his (measured) record of 42.7 watts off his Cobra YAG.
There is an unofficial record for the most powerful laser in attendance that was never fired, however. That belongs to Clandestiny, for his ~ 75 watt CVL that he had on display at a FLEM in 2008. But we couldn't run that unit (not enough power in the building). Not sure if this really qualifies as a record or not...
There is a possibility that we'll have a CVL and a Kr/Ar pair in attendance at SELEM 2010 though. So yeah, the competition is alive and well!
