no they didnt "play it up"!

laserworld had the best stand there for lasers, better than both the other two.

now im sure that line wont go down well but its the truth.

PLASA was a good day out all in all... Not as much laser equipment as I had hoped but then again less equipment on display = less temptation to part with cash.

Medialas had a stand in hall 1 where they were running two of their 3 watt Power VX Green lasers and two Infinity RGB's at 3 watts each. All the lasers were displaying simple overhead fans. They also had Mamba 2 on display.

Kvant had a stand pretty much next door to Medialas. They had a display case with the new smaller modules inside. Namely the combined 445nm and 640nm, a 1 watt 445nm, 900mw 640nm and a 100mw 405nm. They also had a few spectrums at 500mw, 1watt and 10watt all displaying graphics. There was also a green projector which I think from memory was 8watts displaying a single beam across the entire exhibition. The beam was very tight and was a good reference point for when we managed to get lost They also had a new very nice case with dual scanner sets, but no modules inside.

It pains me to say that Laserworld probably had the best display. Multiple RGB lasers (around 8) doing a comprehensive beam show, it looked good but on closer inspection, some of the lasers were badly converged and badly balanced. One pair were doing white, well one was doing a greenie white and the other was doing a more violet ish colour. We did get a demo of Phoenix software which did look pretty good and could be strong competition for some of the bigger players out there. They had a few projectors around the perimeter of the stand and the one they used to demo Pheonix was in serious need of scanner tuning. It had Cambridge scanners, but on Laserworlds in house amps The ILDA pattern looked like it had been drawn by a child with a bad hangover I also cringed when I saw some poor guy handing over his credit card...

Met up with a few PL'ers over there. Myself, Andy_Con and Greenalien grouped up for most of the exhibition. Also bumped into Carl Lewis. Of course, we saw Martin (Pelosh) on the Kvant stand and Jeroen_VDV on the Visual Productions stand. Was good to see you all again and have a good old chat and in some cases a beer..

Other than that, the exhibition was mainly Moving Heads, LED video screens, dancefloors and even a 3d LED screen which was pretty cool... I spent a lot of my day testing out various huge smoke machines and looking at huge PA Systems. I have always been a fan of Funktion One, but if you ever get chance to see a Void PA system, they are works of art. I was amazed we could actually see anything after we were given a demo of an 85,000 watt strobe, damn that thing was bright...

So there is my small review, sorry no pics

Did anyone get a chance to look at the Martin 2500Hz hazer?
How big of a room can it handle?
