Good news: We've got the venue arranged for a private meeting, so I guess we're on!

The place is available from 12:00 until 21:00, which gives us plenty of dark time to do shows. Smoke generator, small PA system and projector for presentations are available, as well as tables for exhibiting equipment and 63A/400V three-phase power.

    Great news Stoney3K !
Perhaps a bit of "mustard after the meal" (the Dutchies know what i mean ) but i also agree with all above if it's open to just everyone that i would think twice about bringing some of my goodies, plus the risks of blinding some unexperienced people.

I think what safety concerns maybe Mccarrot can judge if it is safe to show it in the public room. He is the man to talk to if it comes to safety in my opinion.

We could do the lase off in the public room, but only with pangolin software so we can setup the Beam Attenuation Map and make sure (measure) the exposure will never exceed 10xMPE in the audience.

This will also be a good example and practice for the "audiance scanning" workshop.

Good idee Mcarrot. I have pangolin so you can show me and others how to do it.

There is no public area anymore, I discussed the safety issue with the venue manager and the party will be private.

That doesn't mean we can't do a lase-off though, it's just that there are fewer people watching ... Furthermore, not everyone has a Pangolin-ready unit, so I don't think that would be fair game to beginning builders who want to display their shows but not invest in very expensive hard/software.

I'd suggest we set some rules to the lase-off (fx. with regards to show length) so we can judge fairly, probably by vote. It's for the sheer fun of it, I'll save a 12-crate of Bavaria for the lucky winner.

Rigging the lasers is going to be a bit of a fiddle, we have a mobile scaffold standing in the room which can hold a few projectors (height approx. 3,5-4m from floor) but I think we can make everything work.

This will also be a good example and practice for the "audiance scanning" workshop.
If you can whip up some Powerpoints, that would be great. Projector and PA are available for the workshop.

To a more important question, what is it going to cost?
Is the venue free? Do we have to obtain any kind of license (I really have no idea about rules in the Netherlands)? How about and ?
I propose we buy several crates of beer/soda, some food and we all pay an equal part.
