There is the opposite effect:
Last time I had to deal with the union was:
Ok, your guys can shadow me,but they sure as heck are not touching my gear. This after hearing only the union can run even control cables on my gear and move/unpack crates. No way I'm standing there telling some roadie which cable goes where or try to align the laser into the projector. Its not a DMX fixture.
I did let them hang the bounces. They spent a while arguing over which knot to use to haul each bounce mirror up the scaff. They ended up with a bowland on a bight, but it takes 3 guys to hang a bounce. I did give them goggles. Aligning the down cone was a exercise in patience.
That was the gig where the roadie stood on the projector to adjust a fixture and misaligned all the bounces with the curtain closed. Well, he was a roadie. Ever wonder why my projector never comes to SELEM? Its tough enough to take a person's weight. Gives a new phrase to the term "solid aluminum". base plate is 3/8ths inch with a half inch optical deck, and its 48" x 16" x 16" with solid riser posts for the corners. I'm gonna have to cut it back a few inches so it fits in more modern cars. Designed to exactly fit the back seat of a 1990 4 door Chevy.
