    Default Identify DAC controller Mamba

my good friend is going to let me use his mamba dac but he can not find the binder with the software / driver

He is not certain which version he has. Could some one help identify what he has? We also need to know how many volts & mA's the power supply needs to be and if the tip is positive.

Attached is a picture of the Dac and the USB dongle.
If he can not find the software can we download it from the manufacturer

    thank you.

That is an easylase USB. You should use the easylase mld driver. Not sure about the dongle.

The dongle looks like a Mamba dongle.

The easylase needs 9VDC, the center pin is positive.

Non-demo versions of Mamba are key-specific, i.e. each version only works with 1 key. It's not just a matter of having a key and then being able to use any version. ; you'll have to get the owner of the version that matches the key to officially transfer it to you by contacting Medialas.

How did you get a key without the matching software?

He has lost it. I saw it about 2 yrs ago at his house. It came in a small binder dark blue or black. I am hoping he just finds the software for me.

Thank you for the help guys !! I can't wait to get this up and running

If you have the 4-digit serial number, I am reasonably sure that Medialas will be able to help you. They may be able to help if your friend has a receipt for his purchase. They may even be able to help if you can quote the email address used for upgrade notifications. Certainly worth asking them, as they are the only ones who will have a copy of the software you can use with your dongle.

My friend found his software and binder. So i installed the software and the drivers and it recognized both the key and the easlylase card. I was getting missing nscrt.dll errors but the "preview window" was working correctly.

I did some searching and found it was a winamp issue. so i installed a old version of winamp 5.111 and the errors went away. but now no "preview" is displayed in the preview window. I have since uninstalled winamp (i have not del the files that are left after you unistall )
no luck , I then uninstalled mamba and del the files left in program files\medialas
reinstalled the program, no nscrt.dll error and still no preview.

Does anyone know how i can get back the preview window ?
    any suggestions ?

I still do not have the ILDA cable yet but should have it by tomorrow .

Thank you guys for all the help !
