    Nice

Here's a link for the UK...

    http://www.techno-weld.co.uk/product.html

I'm going to contact them for a price as i've a couple of little jobs that could use this. BTW don't bother with the distributors as most of the links don't work and Farnell no longer stock it

    Thanks for the original link

This stuff works really well, used it a few years ago on various things.
Much cheaper than buying a TIG

Might have to bookmark this. I'm lucky enough to have a torch that runs on MAPP so this should be great.

Anyone know of anything for brazing steel? I tried some brazing rods last time I needed to do it but even the MAPP wouldn't melt them.

I think I now know how to make aluminium boxes without a CNC mill thanks!

    Thanks Al :-)

Yeah, I found that and rang the guy. It's an answering machine, I think he must have a load of messages waiting as the intro music was playing a long time before the record tone came on. Anyway, i've left a message asking him to ring me back so I can order some. I want to ensure they're still in business before I part with my money.

I notice from the price list that the 2.5mm rods & kits are the same price as the 4.5mm rods and kits, I would have thought the thicker rods would have been dearer.

    Cheers

I have 4-5 of these sticks free for the taking if any of y'all want to try them first.

I didn't have any luck with them. None. I was told at the welding place to make sure the alu was REALLY clean, which it was, but still no luck. I'm sure the torch was hot enough and I have no trouble brazing other materials.

    Beats me.

Here's someone elses chance to try them.

The secret with the cheesy welds al rods is to used a drill to wire brush the crap out of the AL, and then keep the heat DOWN, they don't like to get hot....

I have a friend that makes 19" rack mount cases with the stuff. He showed me the trick, which is really, really, good temperature control. Not hot.

I'd love to give it a go but may be a problem as i'm in the UK. Perhaps you could PM me to work something out.

    Cheers
