    Default Listen to this...

i am getting ready to go to sleep last night around 1 am. all of a sudden i get a phone call from an owner of a nightclub here in CT. the guy sounds frantic.

he starts asking my availabilty at that exact moment to come down and look at a laser system of his and to speak to somebody regarding a problem with it. Huh? at 1 am? you cant afford that much money Mr. club owner to get me out on a night off at 1am! lol. well, to make a pretty long story short...

Mr. Club owner decided to purchase a "high end" laser system off of ebay. lol (contradiction in terms) laser projector about 6 months ago. looked pretty good in his place actually, i saw pics of it before. well, he had a few "visitors" last night regarding his nice laser system. . . . . . .

Yessssir...... the CDRH showed up to inspect his system!!! they forced him to immediately turn the laser off. immediately remove, as in...un-install the laser system, took the laser system, and fined the owner $7500!!!!! when the fine gets paid, the laser gets returned.

the guy was calling me to try and have me come down and say it was one of my systems and that it was in there as a rental. lol. can you believe that?

obviously, i didnt go down there.

    moral of the story-
it may not be today, it may not be tomorow, it may not be next month. but in the U.S. if you aint doing legal shows and using certified equipment, your time will come and youre going to get nailed!

Maybe ill get a projector build out of it now! LOL!!!

    Fortunately I live in Italy...
Up now we haven't this kind of problem....

In the other hand Italian Govern is always looking for new taxes for to f**k all of we cityzens in better and smoother way

(Hidden "speed-cameras" on roads are alway the most used system.... minimum fine: 250$ and two points taken off from you drive license .... thanking God IF you haven't worst luck...)

    Holy crap!
Here in Italy you could find a speed camera installed into the alley behind your courtyard also!!!!!

WOW! Well, I guess he didn't follow the rules so he got what he deserved. Interesting to hear the CDRH makes 1AM surprise inspections. Is that normal practice for them? I can't believe the owner was trying to get you to cover for him. That's just ridiculous.

At 1AM? Man I sure hope he saw some sort of credentials.. shit I could get a couple buddies, put on suits and steal laser systems left and right all the while saying I'm a rep of CDRH..

i was thinking the same thing!

i know CDRH will show up, especially at nightclubs, at weird times. but some of the questions i asked the guy didnt have kosher answers.

something tells me this guy got screwed! and yeah, i was pissed that he called me at 1am. i did a show for him about 2 years ago. thats my only communication i ever had with him.

If somebody called me at 1am (4 hours before I get up for work) they would have an additional medical bill to pay; for the extraction of said telephonic device from a dark cavity.

    Unbelievable.

I agree with Carlos.... thiefs rather than CDRH inspectors.

    Mmmmmmm...
This story smells like a rotten dog far from miles...

Too much strange is the question that "Mr.Club owner" has done to you... Why to take infos about how many lasers you stored into your shop/depot?

Thats what you get for running potentially dangerous equipment. But seriously Marc what made him think you were going to go down there and take the wrap for it? Like seriously? FALL ON THIS GRENADE!!!
