    Default Convert RGY to RGYO!

    Hey guys,

Thought I would share this with you. I have an RGY laser which is 200mW, I was worried about scanning audiences etc, so took some advice on here and contacted the ilda, they gave lots of good advice and also suggested that I use an ND filter on the bottom half of the aperture to cut out 90% of the intensity.

I duly went to my local camera shop and purchased a filter which goes from 0% to 90%, which will mean a smooth transition and not a harsh one.

Testing it out, I put it in front of the laser, now, when the yellow goes through the lower part of the filter, it comes out orange, so you get, Red, Green, and yellow fading down into orange! Looks nice too, will try post some pics

    Thumbs up cool idea

Out of curiosity, how much did they sock you for that filter?

Pangolin's LD-2000 allows you to do beam-attenuation maps that will accomplish that same effect in software, but it's nice to have a piece of hardware in there, as it can't ever fail. (Well, unless it falls off!)

Don't forget to take a power measurement with the filter in place to be sure you're OK...

Getting orange means the lens is blocking most of your green. But it's a nice idea.

just a kudos to you for doing the right thing!

asked for safety info, took the advice, contacted a professional agency on the subject (ILDA) and is incorporating their suggestion!

Good Job Kukee! Most people would have just said "screw it, im gonna do what i want..."
