It was the LBO alignment. I actually fixed it by accident. I was flexing the
plate which holds the LBO and watching the power come way up. Well, as I was applying pressure I cracked it loose. So I gave it a quick alignment by hand and the power immediately came waaay up. I found a spot where the power looked the best and glued the LBO down. I let the glue cure and turned it back on, still nice and bright. So I'm going to measure the power tomorrow and go from there. If it's a bit low, I'll break it loose again and realign. If it's good then it'll stay how it is!

As a side note, these lasers make an awesome platform for building a high power DPSS. If anyone has one of these that is broken, send
me a PM! I want one

Power is just about 1W right now... I'll keep workin' on her and see what I can come up with

Did you happen to have a power reading on the laser right before it went tits up?

The bar is set high... but I'll get her up there. This one was a super rough alignment, so I'm sure she'll do it.

I literally snapped it loose, placed it where it looked bright and glued it. Give me a few more days and hopefully we'll be back to 3.2

well it's stable at 1.5W now, I got it as high as 2.3W by just barely touching the LBO mount, so more alignment is in its future. I also need to get some harder glue. I'm not too satisfied with the hardness of mine after it dries, for this particular application. Its perfect for pretty much everything, but not for an output mirror. even .01mm of flex and the power goes up or down.

EDIT: Hey pat, you dont happen to have a set of 808 goggles I could borrow, would ya? I have all the dangerous 808 spray shielded right now while I'm tinkering, but it would be nice to get my 'shields' out of the way :P

If he doesn't I have a pair you can borrow, but I do want them back of course.
