    In general, the implication is that there is a power law in operation, ie f(x)=k^x. (The base k is arbitrary, though 10 and 2 are most common, because you can always convert eg 10=2^log2(10).) And order of magnitude is then a jump from something around the size of k^x to something around k^(x+1).

    i like the "10X bigger" explanation better! lol. i cant *spell* half the words you just put in your einsteinian equation!
