    I got the boss a Sony blu-ray for Chrisatmas... and it won't recognize the disk... I will try to rip and re-burn; I want to see it on the bigscreen.

    I have a cheap shit sony dvd and they played just fine. They also play fine in both of my dvd burners in my computer. Must just be the luck of the draw.

    i don't know which model she got, but not all bluray players will play standard def dvds.

    well i just found this post...and Im sorry to say...mines broke too. THe one with the talks was ok but flakey the other one didnt read at all. I thought it was my computer
