I still dont understand the crazy frog... when I first saw an image of the thing 2-3 years ago I was like "what is that?!"

I guess it is what it is... a crazy frog... haha

This thing got rammed down our throats for about 2 years, I thought I'd gotten over it and now the cold sweats and probably the nightmares are back.

The crazy frog audio stems from an old Internet Meme. The gag went like this... Someone sent you a link, and the deal was that you had to stare at the picture without laughing for 60 seconds. The link took you to a picture of a red formula 1 car with a childish voice doing the sound effects of the engine. Here is a link to that original .swf file.

The childish voice was the inspiration for the first crazy frog video, which was produced as a viral ad for a European video production house. Here's a link to that original video.

Later, as the Crazy Frog character became more popular, they decided to re-mix "Axel-F", adding in the vocals from the frog. They also produced a slick video for it, which is the one you see above. Evidently, they've made millions in the UK alone by selling snippets of the song as cell phone ring tones. (Can you imagine how annoying that would sound?)

Someone showed me the crazy frog video when I was living in Eastern Europe. I don't know if it ever caught on in the USA.

I still think crazy frog videos are funny as hell....
