    This thread has made me reconsider my thoughts about modulating an LM317.. so much knowledge here on PL. Thanks!

    My old laser projector had LM317's in them for modulation...
    However it is the galvo that broke down, not the laser so it's not that bad. However the laser was seriously jellybeaning (but the scanners were too slow to make this effect visible! Only discovered it when I scanned it with a mirror on a fan at much higher speed) and it was TTL only.

    Also, is that DAD'S BACK driver a reference to Dad?
