Decent price for a Spectra-Physic Cyan 488nm 20mW?
I have the opportunity to buy this laser, it is almost new in box except that the serial communication doesn't work. It has like 3 hours run time but was forgotten and the warranty ran out!

What is a good price do you think?

Similar lasers have shown up on ebay for $500 in varying states of function, I wouldn't sugest going over $1000. If you are just interested in a 'real' blue laser, the OSPL lasers (which are also tem00 and SLM) that will do somewhere between 50-200mw depending on who you ask (or how clueless the seller is) for about $2000, one of which I believe is still for sale on this forum.

oh, so I guess 120$ is a good price then!
Hopefully I get it for that price, I'll report later!

USD166 including shipping! It works nice, a beautiful colour!
The rs232 communication is not working but I will try to sort that out.
Now I only need 445nm to make the blue spectrum complete...
Does anybody here have the schematic or the pinout for the "analog interface" connector on the motherboard?
I have the installation/setup/commands manual as a pdf if anybody wants it.

You cannot see it in mid air in broad daylight but with any particles in the air like smoke or dust it becomes visible, a very cool cyan blue colour with a greenish tint.

Ooo... you have a 457 nm laser now? I want to see it and the 488 nm one
-
Forogt about that one! no 457nm yet but that and 445 would make the collection complete...and make a fairly complex blue optical path in the projector
I'll be sure to tell you if I find one!
You can come by anytime to se the 488!

Some pics:
405nm (B-R, a bit out of focus, 100mW), 488nm (S-P 20mW), 473nm (Laserwave 100mW)

with smoke:
