Default My new projector in the making

Hi, as some of you may know, I recently bought a 1W viasho and I'm in the process of making a nice home for it.

I've already made up the drawings for it (see below)
It measures 29 cm by 22 cm and 12 cm's high.

The blue and red are intake and outtake fans.

Also friday I got the oportunity at work to play around with a little engraving machine and I made some labels

Nice labels you created. Can you only engrave letters, or would the laserbeam logo also be possible ?
Also nice compact measurements. Keep us posted with pictures of your build.

As I only had limited time, I didn't have time to input the images

I'm not sure yet if I will use this warning label ...

The only problem with having intake and exhaust fans, is that the intake filter will clog first allowing the exhaust fan to create negative pressure in the case. This then causes the intake of dust etc through any tiny air leaks in the case. It makes more sense to have 2 filtered intake fans creating positive pressure in the case and a passive exhaust vent.

I see your point, but I don't think the clogging will be that drastical. I'll maybe try to clean it every week (and I could let the exhaust fan run slower ...)

I've been thinking about your scenario though. I just don't see any way how I could make some exhaust vents that look nice and are easy to fabricate ...

You could just make another hole the same size as a fan and cover it with another air filter kit.

Don't forget lasers are mostly used in a Smokey envoirment, so it will be clogged sooner than you think.

Inside the space of a single gig in some cases! But then it was in an old barn where the sound system was bringing most of the roof down!

Well, it took me some time, but the case has been made.
Here it is! I'm very happy with it and it's TINY!

    (hand for size reference)

Just going back to the fan thing briefly, you could always add a second intake fan to ensure positive pressure. Personally I just push air in, and leave an obvious way for it to come out that is preferably the other side of the components I'm trying to keep coolest. The airflow takes care of itself.
