Sadly, No.
We have an additional tax called National Insurance which is supposed to pay for the NHS (National Health Service).
This is 11% of your gross monthly wage.
Then you can whack on Income tax which is currently 22% of your gross wage.
But as the government refuses to "ring fence" any taxes (including all these new "Green" taxes which they think up on a daily basis in the UK) it means they continue to tax the working man to death whilst providing less and less services for our money.
We also have a car tax (Vehicle Excise Duty) which was introduced originaly to pay for the upkeep of roads etc. (currently at $365 p.a. for my car as well as all the fuel duty)
But, the UK government being the slimy blood sucking bastards they are, refuse to "ring fence" any tax for the purpose it was created for.
Hence this money also disappears into the vast pocket of the government with precious little to show for it to the average motorist.
We really are getting screwed here in the UK.![]()
