Someone I know has a Kvant that also had similar problems in the beginning.
I think it is fixed by now but remember that they specify a beam somewhere between the “old” & “new” spec from LaserWave.

Some alternatives with good beam specs:

Just be careful that your bank balance doesn’t turn red also

Alternatively, I know Kvant are doing high power reds becaues Insanity has one. Whether they're having the same problems I don't know.
na, i dont want more things i have to worry about aligning anyway

ya swisslas' "recommended" reseller is laserworld, think i will avoid that one

are the RGB lasersystems ones any good? they have an 850mw 640 for the same price (basically) as the 900mw LW...

Well, Kvant's only problem was that sometimes when couriers treated the package with no care at all it arrived slightly missaligned. Sic new layout was developed everything is 100% spot on!
And just yesterday brand new 5.2W 640nm module was released
It's going to be used for our new 19W RGB projectors

BTW what do you mean by KVANT's TAX?

I think he's referring to premium pricing.......

if I purchase the same module from KVANT it would be $630 more than from LW... this to me is not justifiable... if it was $200 maybe, but $600+ no

the LW module was already out of my budget and required me to sell some stuff I now sort of regret selling but whatever

    HI,

I mentioned this issue some time back..

If it helps, what I can tell you is both Kvant and LaseWave get a big thumbs up from me for support and outcomes.

The red 640 beam "combiner" is obviously a challenge for all.
I have had my hands on three now.. each one an improvement and an upgraded design on the previous.
My latest one a 1.2 watt Kvant with the new layout is very good by comparison. There is a hell of a lot of diodes (OK so maybe not that many) in that little box to get perfectly aligned. (and stay there)
I am not sure some people realise what a physical yet intricate challenge that is in the larger size units...

Anyway, I repeat, despite issues, I would happily buy Kvant or LaseWave again.. in the main because they are "there" when it goes wrong and thats what matters..

Here in NZ there is an old familly marketing company that uses the phrase..
" its the putting right that counts"

Your pretty safe with these guys I think..

    Cheers

im amazed it works quite frankly, figure something like that would take one little bump and *bam* there goes everything lol

i just wonder why nobody is doing this with 405nm diodes... considering their low cost, combining a crap-ton of them would be pretty cool and inexpensive
