2 RED DIODES in ONE SLED!

I could be wrong here, but i started to assembly the GGW sled yestarday and there is alot of usefull but small Optics in there.

Although i found the Red and blue diode yestarday, and today just for fun i tested to run wich i though was the IR diode, but its Red,

so are there 2 red diodes in that sled? or have i just made a mistake by mixing up something. :P

Everyone good luck with their diodes, sorry I couldn't join in on the fun eventually. My money reserves dried up a bit here, something to do with Christmas and a Stargate convention

I'll get my hands on a new red eventually. First I need to get the G and the V mounted properly and tested here, not a difficult task, but when that's done, I can always put the R back in once I get a new diode. Flexmods and mounts are all there, just add diode.

BTW: The GGW 12x diodes are tested stable at 0,5W each? That's quite sick.... seems you got your hands on a good batch. The race for the Watt is on!

I'm not in a hurry, I still need to get the optics and DAC sorted first anyway. When I get some stable tests going in GV mode, I can always add a red when I've got the funds.

I'm planning to use a pair of DealExtreme NewWish heat sinks to mount my dioides anyway, these already have 100mW of 650nm builtin, which will be more than adequate for testing. At $17 each including driver board and shipping, I think I can afford busting one up.

Oki there are NOT 2 red diodes. i was litle fast in testing. the IR diodes although emit some litle red light-looks like about 20-30mW. so thats why i was confused. :P

Regarding the Difraction mirrors/optics.. there are actually 2 of them in the GGw sleds.

here are a pic of them, there might be more as there is some i havent tested yet.

i also put a pic of the blues combined. 450mW of 405 is beutiful.
