Default Where can I buy an IR filter for laser aperture?

    Hi Everyone,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I have looked through the forums and can't find an answer.

Where can I buy an IR filter (to filter IR, but let through visible) to fit on the front aperture of my RGV and green DPSS laser? I'm based in the UK.

    Many thanks,

    Nik

I have some square UV/IR filters although would have to check whether it kills the 405 or not.

    Hiya Nik,

What kind of powers were you hoping to push through the filter? Any size constraints?

Also, Violet (BluRay) and Red, if diode-based do not emit IR, so you do not have to filter the IR for these two. You can just filter the green laser before mixing the colors.

If you are looking for a good front aperture cover, check this link out:

Here's a good plot for interested parties

Look for SCHOTT BG-38 or BG-39 absorption glass. You can find it both coated and uncoated, but I only know where to get uncoated myself. If you contact ebay seller omegabob he should be able to help you out and at a good price.
