This is something that worries me about 405.

The beam would still only just be visible, but easily powerfull enough to start fires and fry eyes.

2.4W of 660 is appealing though

Just an idea for the Flexmod. Am I correct in thinking they can do 6 Amps?

also what size beam are you expecting out of this? its going to be massive
As you see there is space for two more drivers between the two locations. I wont charge for xtra holes, you want 4 drivers ill give you four drivers.

your final beam output is totally dictated by the relationship of the beams that exit the aixiz modules. This design is based on a beam diameter of roughly .15". Which could potentially give you a end result beam of .3 x .3".

The design IS COMPLETELY TWEAKABLE...NO FIXED HOLES. you are ONLY limited by your own ability to scrape the mirrors as close as possible. Your ability DICTATES end results. My model shows .5 x .5 is achieved with little effort.

Moving your flexmod there does nothing but block your access to adjustments which is a bad thing. (you saved about one inch in length and complicated your life one foot) Dont be offended DOC, i just dont think it is that important. OBTW...if you want one there...I'll put it there for you.

The size of the module is fine. The race to shrink everything to its smallest size is ridiculous as most of the projector boxes ive seen circulate this forum are large enough to bury a doberman in. My size is very comfortable to work on. The space between the flexmods is "open space" which could be a nice place to bring in the harnes or a terminal strip.

Keep your comments coming in !!! That is what this thread is for.

why dont you redesign you aixiz housings holders and save a few miles?

you could probably cut them down by like half an inch easily.

as the below shows, cut the ends off and bolt in the middle

    Ooh, pretty pretty!

I agree that size is not an issue. If it is, you've shrunk your shoebox too much! Only thing I'd add is a dust-proof cover. Too many surfaces to clean (unless you have a sealed optical deck).

Great Idea!...you can do that if you want...as a matter of fact, you can buy my mounts and modify them yourself if you want.

they are available here - http://www.microlaserlabs.com/aixiz-...unts-c-27.html

I will keep watching for your setup. You have a problem with size (not sure how Freud would analyze that one) ...Re read post one, small size is not the goal, the goal was elegance in simplicity and functionality. FWIW - I dont see how your mod will change the total size one bit

I await other designs, OBTW...this is not a photo shopped kit, it is here on my desk.

a cover is no problem, i wont supply it, because it is just sheet metal or plexi,

but it is the basic starting point for a 8 diode set - up...frankly, i doubt Ill even sell ONE unit...but it was fun designing!

    but yeah, thanks!
