I bought the rage tracknot because I particularly like the song but because i'm sick and tired of the x-factor finding these supposedly awesome 'superstars', then going on to steal the Christmas number one spot... and that's the last you ever hear/see of them!
Its nice to know that people power can sometimes rule out all this commercialism.
Its a shame that rage against the machine are managed by Sony BMG... which simon cowell is also a part of. oh well!![]()
Great! So rage won! I was following this a couple of days ago thanks for the update!
I am glad that people won in this round against manufactured corporate regurgitated crap.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
THANK YOU for sharing that!!!
That article was a great read, I could read stuff like that all day/night. I hate how commercialized music has become.
It is so rarely 'about the music' anymore it scares me.
The fact that one company owns almost every venue in every town and wont let people they do not represent play there is just step #1 in the wrong direction.
I want to hear music written by musicians... not music written by executives because they want a song about ABC. Then sung by a bunch of kids who have no chemestry together and formed as a band by some execs because they look good together in Ambercrombie clothing styles (and because the company that is piecing this band together probably owns ambercrombie and fitch). AND to top it all of the poor audio guy who has to run a console for them every night on tour attempting to hide from the audience that an Auto-Tune program is running in the background. This is the current music industry's step into #2 in the wrong direction.

I digress.
I Like RATM!
Hear hear, Max! Agree 100%!
Autotune =

Autotune? From what I understand it is, it seems like it is ambiguous. At one side, it is cheating, at the other side, maybe we could hear the singer sing!![]()
While I agree that auto tune is commonly used by no-talent jokes. It is in some cases tasteful to use it. In my classically trained musicians opinion, when CORRECTLY used by a very TALENTED vocalist in RESERVED amounts, auto tune can be a really nice feature. I am friends with an extremely talented vocalist at my college. She successfully used auto tune in a piece she recorded 2 weeks ago. I'll try and get a recording of the song.
When I first looked at the title, I thought the thread was going to be about someone being thrown into jail for misusing lasers. :P
Check out my laser media here!
Here's a thought to ponder - What's more unethical: makeup, or autotune?
