I can't speak to precision because I'd have to compare it to another calibrated meter. However, across various lasers I have from 25mW to 1.5W it is giving me readings that I'd expect from the lasers. I understand there can be a +-5% or even +-10% range on the readings. So far I have not seen any reading that is off base with the laser in question. But again, a comparison to a calibrated meter would be require to speak to precision.
In terms of user interface, ease of use, features and functions, i find this meter good in all respects. You can set the graphing threshold, min/max range and sample speed and it will graph in real time in the display. further it reads peak and average once the threshold has been hit. you can set the meter in a mode that replaces the graph with a digital representation of a needle gauge which can be useful. the best part is that it will log in real time to a computer application, graphically and also allows exporting of the sample data. WOW!
$400. can't go wrong.
