    Default delete an associated username?

    Hey everyone-

i am re-installing a program that i had on my computer about a month ago. the program requires a username and password which i obviously signed up for when i first installed it. after the trial period i decided not to use it anymore and removed it from my computer.

I am trying to use it again and re-installed it. however it is automatically using my old user name. i cant even get a dialog to set up a new account opr anything. short of completely reformatting my HD, is there a way i can dis-associate my old username with this program so that i can sign up with a new user name??

    any ideas??

More than likely something still lurking around in the registry.
Try: Start -> Run -> Regedit -> F3 and type in the name of the program or the username you signed up with, keep pressing F3 and hope you get something sensible. Don't delete anything unless you are 100% sure it's correct.
If not could be a config file lurking around in Program Files. It's hard to say without knowing specifics. But see how you get on with the registry, just tread carefully in it ;(

    LOL-

no, its actually "Laserfreaks gone wild 3"

no, in all seriousness its a video download program (NO, not bad videos! ) lol. when i first tried it a month or so ago, it SUCKED which is why i stopped using it and deleted it. but a buddy of mine is using it now and says its great. I have also read things on line that says its pretty decent.

i re-installed it and it keeps just finding my old user name. and i will be DAMNED if i pay for the software now without trying it first again. i have no problem paying for something if its worth it. i, for the life of me, cant get rid of the old user name.

Which also means i cant sign up for a new "demo" account. Grrrrr!!!

Daniel- i tried the regestry search and i see all sorts of entries with this software. but i have NO idea what i can delete or cant delete.

no simple way to clean out what seems to be "Program cookies" of sorts?? This user name needs to be stored somewhere. its not even the password. just the Username.

why do i always have problems with what seems to be and what should be pretty simplistic things.

call or email the company and tell them you want to try a new demo. tell them why and I'm sure they'll help you out.

    Do as Dan suggested.

When you find an instance of the program, expand it fully (click on th "+" sign in the left column), observe the string and dword values in the right column.

Press f3 again, there may well be further instances.
