Thumbs up New UK Laws regarding Aircraft and Lasers

This has possibly already been discussed here, and if so I apologize for the new thread.

It seems that the UK is imposing new laws that specifically deal with pointing lasers at aircraft, effective beginning in Jan 2010. Apparently there have been issues getting the previous charges to stick since they aren't specifically for pointing a laser at a plane. I don't know if it will make any difference, but I hope it does. Pointing at aircraft is already illegal in the US (a felony I believe), but anything that makes a difference in stopping these occurrences is a good thing, regardless of what country makes the laws.

"The Department for Transport will decide the maximum sentence....."

Shows how fucked up our country is where somebody other than the judicial system decides on sentences that courts can hand out for offences.

Where the hell can I emigrate to?
Is there any country that still has some vestiges of common sense?

Come to the Netherlands, we have the best (laser)party's we have no law's at all for lasershow, so you could do a 300MPE show and laserpointer higher than 5mW are illegal.

Shining at a airplain will cost you a half a day in the cell

The Netherlands might have the best events in terms of production (lights, stage, sound, etc..) but they can keep that 150-160BPM Hardstyle/Hardcore crap.. Personally, I prefer tasteful techno with a bit of sophistication. 140BPM as an absolute max. It is all a matter of personal taste, though.

    But I'm off topic now..

I dunno, the westbam remix of "Feelin so real" is still pretty epic today.

as for the pointer jockeys? Fuck 'em. Should be treated like a lightsabre, you're not a jedi until you build one.
